Steve Pearlman has been practicing real estate tax law for more than 30 years. After becoming a member of the Illinois bar in 1980, Steve began working in the real estate tax unit of the State Attorney’s office. In his capacity as an Assistant State’s Attorney, his responsibilities included representing the Cook County Assessor, Collector, Cook County Board and County Clerk. Specifically he represented the County in defending specific objection lawsuits, tax injunctive matters, and appeals.

Steve went into private practice in 1982. Cultivating trusted relationships with clients and assessing officials has been a central pillar for Steve in building his practice, and today his firm has grown into one of the most highly respected Chicago law firms specializing in the field of ad valorem taxation. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and the International Association of Assessing Officers.
